Flexible Workforce Development Fund

The Fund is now in its fifth round and as in previous years the funding is designed to help employers based and operating in Scotland with their staff development and training.

For the 2021/2022 round of FWDF funding here are the key facts:

FWDF is available to eligible employers in Scotland across the private, public and third sectors (detailed guidance notes are available on request):

Each Apprenticeship Levy-paying employer may be able to access up to a maximum of £15000 in 2021/22

Each employing SME (less than 250 staff) may be able to access up to a maximum of £5000 in 2021/22

You can only make one application for funding

The FWDF can be used as part-contribution towards training of a higher cost.

The FWDF is in addition to apprenticeship support which all employers are eligible to access in Scotland.

The FWDF will not support provision of qualifications or training required by legislation (statutory requirement).

The College will allocate funds on a first-come-first-served-basis (each regional College is allocated a set sum).
