MAC-CAN is a community-led climate action group that is rooted in DG8 but has big dreams and ambitions. Starting in 2021, we are a supportive, enthusiastic and hands-on group who facilitate our own projects and support others to do the same through the sharing of learning, resources and energy.
MAC-CAN are involved in a range of climate activities on an increasing basis and find ourselves at a crucial point in our development where we require a Coordinator to support the administration of our group.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Coordinator role:
o Develop links and networking with organisations and people within and outwith MAC-CAN area (roughly the DG8 postcode area) relevant to developing the organisation according to its aims.
o Keep up to date with climate challenge issues and policies both nationally and locally.
o Liaising with MAC-CAN’s social media facilitator to add relevant articles and news to the website
o Identifying and applying for funding to develop projects.
o Arranging internal and external meetings including MAC-CAN Operations Group and Trustees meetings taking minutes and following up on actions from those meetings
o Be the first point of contact for MAC-CAN enquiries.
This role will report directly to a designated member of the MAC-CAN Board of Trustees.
Qualifications and Skills:
o Interest in Community climate action and the aims of MAC-CAN
o Experience in administration
o Experience of facilitating meetings, networks and partnership working
o Organised and able to manage own time and work schedule
Other information:
o IT equipment will be provided
o Reasonable travel expenses will be provided, use of public transport is preferable whenever possible, otherwise post holder will need to have access to own car and valid driving license.
Interviews will be week of 11th December, starting w/c 16th Jan 2024.
