The Organisations
Carsphairn Community Trust (CCT) was formed to take forward development projects on behalf of the community of Carsphairn and to take the lead in the regeneration of the area.
Carsphairn Community Woodland (CCW) is committed to acquiring, developing and managing local woodlands in a sustainable and environmentally sound way for the long-term benefit of the local community.

Post Role
The postholder will contribute towards the delivery of the Trust and Woodland’s strategies, Operational Plans and overall objectives by delivering a suite of projects, activities and events approved by the boards to meet budget and outcome targets. As such the postholder will by employed by CCT but act on behalf of both CCT and CCW.

The postholder will be directly involved in developing the agreed portfolio of projects, events and activities for CCT and CCW all the while working with the boards of CCT and CCW on behalf of the local community to identify and turn community aspirations into successfully delivered community projects.

Specific Duties
Work with stakeholders in ensuring that all CCT/CCW projects are delivered effectively and efficiently.

To identify funding sources for the range of identified projects, activities and events and to timeously undertake the application process for these. This in order to develop and maximise external funding opportunities for CCT/CCW projects.

To write and submit reports on progress to CCT and CCW boards.

Deliver presentations to the CCT and CCW boards and partners as required.

To develop, deliver and monitor the implementation of CCW/CCT projects, events and activities.

Ensure work activities are compliant with all, statutory and regulatory obligations, performance and financial targets.

Arranging and facilitating meetings and consultation events in Carsphairn where necessary.

Carry out relevant tender opportunities to enable third party entities to bid for work in specific projects, events and activities. Ensure these tender processes comply with all relevant legislation.

Experience Preferred
Excellent communications skills
Ability to work to identified goals
Work in a professional corporate environment with private, public and third sector groups
Excellent Organisational and Development Skills
Knowledge and experience of preparing successful funding applications  Good presentation, written and numeracy skills  Proven ability to work independently.
Knowledge of relevant local funding sources

Person Specification
Must be self motivated, enthusiastic and able to work on own initiative.
Trustworthy beyond reproach and respect confidentiality.
Proven ability to drive a project from start to finish.
Track record in fundraising and preparation of grant applications.
Experienced in community work either in a paid or volunteer capacity.
Preferably live within a reasonable driving distance from Carsphairn.
Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbally in a formal or informal environment.
Be ambitious with determination to succeed.
Have a strong commitment to provide high quality customer service.
