Due to recent developments, we have vacancies in the Young Carers Project team, and require two Young Carers/Young Adult Carers Support Workers.
Post 1 – 24 hours per week – £25,285 (FTE)
Post 2 – 20 hours per week – £25, 285 (FTE) Please note: this post is till 31st March 2026 (this post may continue subject to ongoing funding)
Have you got what it takes to provide support to children and young people who have caring responsibilities?
• A sound knowledge of working with children and young people.
• An understanding of the role that a Young Carer and Young Adult Carers have and how this can impact their life.
• The skills for a demanding, yet very rewarding job delivering one to one support.
• The skills to help deliver group sessions.
• The flexibility to work after school hours into the early evening, occasional weekend work and residentials.
• Access to own car

The postholder will provide support to Young Carers & Young Adult Carers across Dumfries & Galloway
A knowledge of working with children and young people is essential, as is access to own car.
An awareness of the workings of the third sector, health and social care services would be an advantage.
A knowledge of digital applications is essential and experience of using virtual platforms would be an advantage.
The post will include a blended approach of home and office working
