The Mental Health Forum – launched in May 2025 – is a dedicated space for organisations, practitioners, and communities to come together and take a collaborative approach to mental health across Dumfries and Galloway.
For this special edition, we’re teaming up with OutPost Arts, an innovative creative health organisation, to explore the theme of Comfort and Disturb as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival. Expect a lively mix of art, conversation, and reflection as we explore how creativity can soothe, challenge, and transform how we think about mental health.
Together we will:
- Discover the power of creativity in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
- Explore opportunities to connect, collaborate, and co-create across health, community, and creative sectors.
- Challenge perceptions of how creative approaches can be applied in prevention, early intervention, therapy, recovery, and treatment.
The day will feature interactive activities, creative showcases, table talks, and the chance to build new connections. You’ll leave with fresh ideas, practical takeaways, and even a creative memento to remind you of the power of doing things differently.
This event is open to everyone — whether you work in mental health, community support, the arts, or simply care deeply about wellbeing.
