Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway

Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway has invited The Democratic Finance Scotland team to help you look at an alternative way to raise money for your project.

The programme is delivered by Development Trusts Association Scotland (DTAS). DTAS works with democratic and enterprising community groups across Scotland to help them secure local, and citizen driven sources of money, for example community shares, legacy giving, local philanthropy and community bonds.

This one-hour session will give you an insight into the key principles of democratic finance, different types of democratic finance and what support you might be able to access to explore this further. We’ll use case studies to illustrate what’s possible.

This event is part of a programme funded by the UK Government.

  • A greater understanding of alternatives to grant funding, what democratic finance is, and what types of organisation it is suited to
  • Knowledge of how these methods might apply in your community and to your own organisation and how to take some first steps to explore this further
  • Understanding of the support available from the Democratic Finance Scotland team
  • Understandinf of the support available from Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway

This short event is suitable for community organisations who already have members, are already democratically led and enterprising, or those who want to start or convert to this way of working.
