The Carers Forum is a cross-sector space for organisations and individuals who support — or have an interest in supporting — unpaid Carers across Dumfries and Galloway. It brings together third sector organisations, community groups, public sector partners and others who contribute to the wider Carer support landscape.
The Forum provides an opportunity to connect, share knowledge, reflect on emerging issues and strengthen practical support across the sector.
It is not a commissioning or governance space. Its focus is connection, shared learning and collective capacity.
Guest speakers may be invited where helpful, and sessions centre on discussion, collaboration and strengthening relationships.
The Carers Forum aims to:
· Provide peer connection and support between organisations supporting Carers
· Share information, knowledge and good practice
· Promote and celebrate the contribution of those supporting unpaid Carers
· Increase cross-sector understanding and collaboration
· Strengthen collective capacity to support Carers across Dumfries and Galloway
· Build constructive relationships with public sector partners
The Carers Forum exists to:
- Strengthen cross-sector relationships that support unpaid Carers
- Increase shared knowledge and visibility across the support landscape
