Join us for a brand-new workshop in partnership with Young Scot!
This session will be led by guest speaker, Sara Daniels, Data and Insights Manager from Young Scot. Sara leads on Young Scot’s data and insight service which ensures Young Scot can collect, analyse and communicate the impact they have on the lives of young people, as well as helping Young Scot and the sector to better understand the needs/views of young people.
Involving young people in volunteering, not only benefits them, but also your organisation and the wider community. If your organisations’ ambition is to be successful in working with young volunteers, you need to reflect on any barriers and motivations they may have.
In this one-hour session, we will focus on the evidence-based approach working with young volunteers and will find answers to:
– What does the evidence tell us about why young people decide to volunteer?
– What helps them sustain that engagement with a volunteer placement?
– And how can organisations work to increase, retain, and sustain their young volunteer engagement?
- Understanding the benefits of involving young people in volunteering for individuals, organisations, and the wider community.
- Identifying common barriers and motivations that influence young people’s decision to volunteer.
- Exploring evidence-based insights into what supports young people to start and stay engaged in volunteering roles.
- Reflecting on their own organisation’s practices and considering how to become more youth-inclusive.
- Developing practical strategies to attract, retain, and support young volunteers more effectively.
This session is aimed at any Third Sector Organisation that recruits volunteers for their organisation, including trustees, volunteer co-ordinators/managers, or staff., or any that are looking to branch into volunteering.
