We’re looking for enthusiastic, compassionate people to join our Dumfries & Galloway Family Support Service as a Relief Family Support Worker. You’ll support children with disabilities, young people and families with practical, emotional and holistic help that makes a real difference.
We have opportunities in Dumfries, Stranraer, Annan, Lockerbie, Newton Stewart, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Creetown and Sanquhar.
No two days are the same. One day you might help a young person build confidence through activities; the next, you could be shaping outcome plans that help them thrive. Every day, your work will matter.
Relief posts – flexible shifts that fit around other commitments
Evenings from 3:30pm until 8:30pm
Weekends- 3-to-5 hour shifts on Saturdays & Sundays

What we’re looking for

✔ Confident working independently and as part of a team
Please note you must be a driver with access to your own vehicle to be considered for this role.
Experience in family support, social care or community work is helpful, but empathy, curiosity and a genuine desire to help others grow are just as important.
