Role Description: Development Worker (Self Employed Contractor)
Role Title: Development Worker (Self Employed)
Hours: 18 hours per week
Engagement Type: Self employed contractor / freelance agreement
Location: Eskdalemuir, Dumfries and Galloway, with remote working by agreement
Reports to: Eskdalemuir Expressive Arts Trustees / Named Trustee Liaison
Fee: £20 per hour, 18 hours per week (invoiced monthly) for 46 weeks = £16560.00

Eskdalemuir Expressive Arts is a community-based organisation supporting creativity, wellbeing, and community connection through inclusive arts activities. EEA delivers workshops, events, and community arts opportunities and is committed to accessibility, equality, and good governance.
Purpose of the Role
In the last three years our facilities have expanded, and our activities are reaching many more people. As a result, we have outgrown our old voluntary structure and now need an enthusiastic, creative individual who can support our future development. You will be helping us to expand our range of creative activities and engage with even more people within our area. You will work independently, using your own expertise, while collaborating closely with us.
What you will do…
Development & Sustainability
• Develop and implement a marketing strategy.
• Support the development and delivery of arts and crafts workshops.
• Contribute to the development of new projects and initiatives to broaden the reach of the EEA.
Funding & Fundraising
• Assist in the preparation of funding applications and supporting documents.
• Support monitoring, reporting, and evaluation for funded projects.
Partnerships & Engagement
• Help maintain relationships with funders, partners, and local community groups.
• Develop professional contacts.
Monitoring & Evaluation
• Collect evidence of impact and outcomes.
• Help evaluate outcomes for future improvement.

What you will bring…
Essential:
• Strong IT and digital design skills
• Marketing experience
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills.
Desirable:
• Experience of working with or within other arts organisations
• Knowledge of the local voluntary or arts sector.
• Experience working with trustee led or community organisations.
• Some experience of fundraising and funding applications.
• Driving Licence
