Lothlorien is a long-established therapeutic community located near the village of Corsock in rural Dumfries and Galloway. Set within 17 acres of woodland, gardens, and meadows, we have spent over 40 years demonstrating the value of organic gardening and nature-based therapeutic activities in supporting people experiencing mental health challenges.
We are seeking a Support Coordinator to join our Core Group staff team. This role focuses on supporting residents to make the most of their time at Lothlorien. You will be actively involved in all aspects of community life, including community meetings, shared work periods, and therapeutic sessions.
By building strong, trusting relationships, you will help create a safe and supportive environment where residents can develop self-esteem, confidence, and practical skills as they work towards recovery and moving forward with their lives.
About you
Our ideal candidate will:
• Have experience working with adults facing mental health challenges
• Bring a genuine interest in therapeutic gardening and nature-based approaches
• Be able to work collaboratively within a close-knit community setting
• Demonstrate empathy, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
Hours and conditions
• This is a full-time position (5 days per week), although we may consider applications for 4 days per week
• The role includes participation in the on-call rota (approximately 1 week in 4)
• On-call is primarily telephone-based; however, occasional on-site attendance may be required if residents’ mental health deteriorates
• Applicants must be able to reach the site within one hour when on call
• On-call duties are paid separately
