Daytime Ward Support D7 Frailty Unit [20741]

NHS Dumfries and Galloway

We are looking for friendly, patient and compassionate volunteers to join Cree Ward at Midpark Hospital as Welcome Guides. Cree Ward supports people living with dementia, and volunteers will help create a calm and welcoming environment for patients, families, carers and visitors.

The role includes welcoming visitors to the ward, answering the door, helping people find the appropriate waiting area, responding to general queries, offering refreshments where appropriate, and providing a reassuring and friendly presence. Volunteers may also help with the exchange of items between patients and their families, such as washing or treats.

You don’t need previous experience. We’re looking for people with a warm, respectful manner, good communication skills and plenty of patience and empathy. Dementia awareness training and full role-specific support will be provided.
