Lothlorien Therapeutic Community
- Attending Lothlorien during the week at pre-appointed times to take part in the daily routines.
- Helping to provide support and encouragement to residents to sustain the daily routines.
- ‘Doing with’ rather than ‘doing for’ residents so everyone can participate.
- Befriending in an open, tolerant and non-judgemental manner.
- Communicating in a non-intrusive manner.
- Respecting privacy of confidential information, except in exceptional cases.
- Driving the community vehicle (optional).
Daily Routines include:
- Garden work e.g. weeding, sowing seeds, planting out seedlings, picking vegetables.
- Woodland work e.g. collecting wood, planting trees.
- Housework e.g. cleaning, cooking, preserving food.
- Facilitated sessions e.g. Tara Rokpa therapy, yoga, Qi gong, mindful walks.
- Communal Lunch (for full day volunteers)

Training and Induction
1 trial day with a tour of the site. On following days:
PVG application; House induction; Garden induction; Volunteer handbook for reading
Training on site will be given as and when required. Online training required in two simple courses: Equality, diversity and human rights and Level 1 Raising Awareness of Adult Support and Protection
