Help shape future of poverty and inequality services in region

People and organisations across Dumfries and Galloway are being invited to share their experiences and views as part of a consultation to help shape the new Poverty and Inequalities Strategy for 2027–2032.

The strategy will guide how public services and partners work together to tackle poverty, reduce inequalities and improve outcomes for people and communities across the region over the next five years.

A survey called “Your Voices, Your Experiences is now open for people with lived experience of poverty or inequality. It asks about everyday challenges, access to support, financial pressures and what changes would make the biggest difference to people’s lives. Responses are anonymous, and people can answer as many or as few questions as they wish.

There is also a separate survey for organisations that work directly with people affected by poverty or inequality.

The consultation is designed to ensure that the voices of local people help shape future priorities and actions. The refreshed strategy will build on existing commitments while responding to current challenges including cost-of-living pressures, access to services and widening inequalities.

A range of support is available to help people take part, including accessible surveys, paper copies, QR codes and additional assistance on request.
