The Stranraer Development Trust is looking to recruit volunteers to assist with various projects and events happening within the local community.

One of the ongoing projects happening at the moment is the Dandelion project which involves the creation of an ‘Unexpected Garden.’ For this project we are looking for volunteers to assist with gardening tasks, help with the upkeep of the garden and assist with the organising and delivery of events/workshops that are happening at the garden.

We also have our Oyster Festival happening from the 2nd – 4th of September 2022. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the delivery of the festival. The role of volunteers at the festival will include but not exhaustive to: assist with the provision of the youth activities, provide information to visitors, act as guides and provide directions around the festival site, assist with coverage on our social media channels, etc.

As part of our youth development work we are also looking to recruit some ongoing Youth Volunteers. Youth Volunteers will also play a key role in both the garden project and the Oyster Festival, however they will also assist with various youth projects happening throughout the year. Youth volunteers will assist the Youth Activities Engagement Officer with the delivery of such projects as well as the collection of views and feedback from other local young people. The volunteers will also assist the Youth Activities Engagement Officer with the planning of these projects and activities.

We appreciate any time the volunteers can commit to volunteering for any of the aforementioned projects/events.
