Meetings are held quarterly on the last Thursday of the month during business hours, there may be other meetings held between these if required. The approximate hourly requirement would be around 2-3 hours per month dependant on the role within the Board.

To be a Trustee in our organisation is an exciting and fulfilling role.  We feel that our Board benefits from recruiting individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences and skillsets.

The role of our Trustees is to ensure that Dumfries and Galloway Advocacy Service fulfils its duty to its beneficiaries and delivers on our strategic objectives, mission statement and principles and standards.

The duties of our Trustees are: to ensure the organisation complies with its governing document (Articles and Memorandums), to ensure that the organisation pursues its objectives as defined in its governing document, to contribute actively to the Board of Trustees’ role in giving strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy and evaluating performance against agreed targets, to safeguard the good name and values of the organisation and to ensure the financial stability of the organisation.
