I am a trustee of the Friends of Broughton House and Garden and have been for the past twelve years. When I first visited the house, whilst living in Hampshire, I was completely overcome by the house, it’s garden and the many beautiful things collected by E A Hornel; an inveterate collector especially the library which contains many rare books. This house is where I joined the NTS in 2009 as in was so inspired by my visit.
I felt I must have more to do with this magical property, when I was planning to make my move back to the land of my birth, so once moved I joined the Friends and soon after became the Honorary Secretary a position I now still hold.
