Organisations connect and collaborate at Meet Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway

Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway (TSDG) welcomed organisations, community groups, and individuals this week to a special event — offering a unique opportunity to discover the wide range of free support and services available to the region’s third sector.

The first of a series of events, Meet Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway began with a short presentation highlighting TSDG’s work in areas such as organisational support, governance, funding, volunteering, social enterprise, community health and wellbeing, employability, impact, and communications.

Attendees at Johnstonebridge Community Centre then had the chance to meet directly with TSDG’s team for tailored, one-to-one conversations.

Beyond advice and guidance, the day provided a valuable platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and building future collaborations among local charities, voluntary groups, and social enterprises.

Refreshments and informal discussion encouraged attendees to forge new connections and explore shared opportunities.

Similar events are due to be held in Sanquhar, Wigtown and the Stewartry.

One attendee said: “Definitely a worthwhile event from our perspective—you just need one idea from something, and it can change so much. We gained a better understanding of TSDG too.”

Another added: “It’s good to know there is support and advice for our community, and for one of our volunteers who wants to launch a social enterprise.”

TSDG supports organisations of all sizes to strengthen their impact, develop sustainable projects, and make a lasting difference in local communities.

The event highlighted the depth and breadth of that support—empowering groups to grow, innovate, and connect.
