The Langholm Alliance is an umbrella community organisation approved by Scottish ministers to oversee the economic regeneration of our town by 2030.
The Muckle Toon, as it is known locally, is surrounded by stunning countryside, rolling hills, rivers and forests and is home to some of Scotland’s best-loved wildlife. The wider community also has a rich history and heritage, as the birthplace of engineer Thomas Telford and poet Hugh MacDiarmid, the adopted home of the first man on the moon Neil Armstrong, and the beating heart of Scotland’s textiles industry for centuries.
